This is some text inside of a div block.

Themes of war and peace are explored in a moving series of choral, vocal and instrumental pieces including Vaughan Williams' Dona Nobis Pacem, a heartfelt plea for peace composed in 1936 when the threat of war was clear. This is complemented by Cecilia McDowall's evocative and moving cantata Some Corner of a Foreign Field, composed to mark the centenary of the First World War. Our distinguished soprano and baritone soloists are Jenny Stafford and James Cleverton, while tenor James Robinson will feature in the McDowall and team up with harpist Deian Rowlands to perform a rare work by Britten. NLC's accompanist Catherine Borner marks her 20th anniversary with the choir by performing Finzi and Elgar's Serenade for Strings completes the programme. An exceptional evening is in store!
