Fire is an essential source of life. As water’s angrier cousin, it gets a bad rap; a destroyer of things. But fire also gathers us together. Tending fires is an ancient communal practice. Controlled burns make way for whole ecosystems to survive. Before gender binaries, before politics, before race, before country lines, folks built fires. Around these fires, vocal traditions of storytelling and song were born. While so much of our world is ablaze, we are negotiating our relationship to this fire - burning down what we don’t need, facing our inner heat, tending to the burns that hurt. We’re singing through our anger, love, sisterhood, war, resistance, water, solidarity, peace. The contradictions that exist within and around us. Ticket info: Pay what you can on a sliding scale.
